Rahul Saha is a partner in Willkie's London office. Rahul advises on a wide range of EU and UK competition law issues, including EU and UK merger control, cartels, competition litigation and UK market investigations. He advises across a wide range of sectors including heavy industry, retail, consumer, e-commerce, telecom and energy. He also has experience advising on EU and UK sector-specific regulation relating to energy and telecom. 

Rahul is recognised by The Legal 500 UK (2023) for EU and Competition with clients describing him as “an excellent technical lawyer and clearly a talented solicitor”. 

Willkie’s London Competition team was named a finalist at the Legal Business Awards (2024) for ‘Competition Team of the Year’ and at The Lawyer Awards (2020) for ‘Competition & Regulatory Team of the Year’.

Competition Litigation

Rahul has experience of advising companies on competition litigation in the UK Competition Appeals Tribunal, High Court and appeal courts. Significant matters include advising*:

  • Telefonica (O2) in the largest stand-alone anti-trust damages claim currently in the English courts, brought by Phones4U in the High Court in London
  • A specialty chemicals and advanced materials company on brining a standalone abuse of dominance claim against a competitor in the High Court in London
  • Telefonica (O2) in a series of cases, relating to interconnect charges, before the Competition Appeals Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court
  • Visa Europe on a threatened abuse of dominance claim under the then newly established fast-track procedure before the CAT
  • A major European satellite operator on bringing an abuse of dominance claim in the High Court against a competitor
