Gabriel Flandin is a partner in the Corporate & Financial Services Department. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions involving public and private companies, including both private equity and strategic acquirer transactions, as well as bankruptcy-based asset sales. He also regularly advises on corporate governance issues and joint venture structuring.

In addition to his transactional work, Gabriel regularly advises clients in the financial regulatory and infrastructure industries. IFLR 1000 ranks Gabriel as a “Highly Regarded” practitioner in the areas of M&A and private equity in France.

Gabriel has also been ranked as “Leading Individual” by The Legal 500 EMEA 2024 – M&A. A client highlighted that “Gabriel Flandin brings not only his technical expertise but also a real ability to negotiate, taking his client’s positions while bringing a lot of serenity to the discussions" and "He is absolutely excellent and has an outstanding mix of skills in terms of law and business aspects."

Gabriel was recognized again by Best Lawyers in 2024 for Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity.

Gabriel is a lecturer on corporate law topics at the Université de Montpellier, where he provides several courses on LBO structuring. He served for one year as external general counsel for Deutsch Group in New York.

Gabriel is fluent in French and English.

 

Experience

Prior to joining Willkie in 2012, Gabriel was of counsel at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (primarily based in Paris, he spent almost one year in the New York office of the firm, working notably as in-house lawyer for Deutsch Group). He has also worked as a corporate and tax law lecturer at the University of Montpellier, where he still provides lectures from time to time.
