David Luce is a partner in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department in New York and a member of the Insurance Transactional and Regulatory Group. He has over 20 years of experience in complex insurance-related transactions, regulatory matters and litigation.
David has extensive experience in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, insurtech and venture capital financings, reinsurance, securities offerings, XXX, AXXX and embedded value financings of life insurance policy reserves, variable annuity hedging, sidecars, catastrophe bonds, transformer trades, insurance and weather-linked derivatives, longevity and mortality swaps and pension solutions. He also advises insurance companies on strategic venture investments and represents emerging insurtech companies.

Experience
Prior to joining Willkie in 2022, David was a partner and global chair of Fintech at another international law firm. His previous experience includes serving as a Director in the Fixed Income Division at Credit Suisse, where he led an insurance solutions and structuring team, and serving as a Vice President in the Insurance Products Group of the Fixed Income Division of Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers.
