Willkie advised Sofina, a global investment company listed on Euronext, on its minority investment in team.blue, Europe’s leading digital enabler for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses.
The investment by Sofina, announced on July 23, closely follows an investment by CPP Investments that valued team.blue at approximately €4.8 billion. Hg, an investor in team.blue since 2019, remains the company’s largest single investor.
Sofina is a Belgian investment company, listed on Euronext Brussels. Sofina has investments in Europe, Asia and the United States in various sectors, with a particular focus on consumer and retail, digital transformation, education, healthcare and sustainable supply chains.
The Willkie team was led by partner Vincent Naveaux and counsel Juno Hautekiet with assistance from associates Hadrien Berlanger and Jolien De Troyer. Partner Gavin Gordon and associate Vishaal Patel advised on UK aspects of the transaction, while partner David Kupka led on the antitrust and foreign direct investment aspects.
