Jeff Clancy is a partner in the Corporate & Financial Services Department and Insurance Transactional and Regulatory Practice Group. Jeff focuses on all aspects of professional liability insurance, transactional insurance, risk management and complex indemnification schemes. He regularly advises corporations, boards, individual directors and officers, independent directors, private equity firms and hedge funds on insurance-related issues ranging from customizing and placing insurance programs, corporate transactions, restructuring and bankruptcy matters, and management and professional services claims.
Jeff has extensive experience evaluating insurance coverages under D&O, R&W, E&O, cyber, fiduciary, EPL, mutual fund and hedge fund policies. This includes drafting and negotiating customized policies, considering strategic claim noticing issues to maximize coverage, and handling major management-based claims through final recovery. He regularly assists clients with insurance placements, whether during routine annual renewals or following more difficult settings, including post-claim, post-bankruptcy or following a change-in-control transaction.
Jeff works closely with all of the departments at Willkie to ensure that insurance issues are considered in connection with our clients’ overall goals. His technical and commercial experience on behalf of policyholders helps clients maximize their insurance assets and potential recoveries, while helping to avoid unnecessary insurance disputes.
