Willkie partner Craig C. Martin, Chairman, Midwest, has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business’s “Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys of 2025,” a series recognizing the top lawyers shaping Chicago’s legal landscape.

He was again selected by Crain’s as one of Chicago’s business leaders and recognized for excellence in high-stakes cases, pro bono service and civic leadership. The profile noted that Craig, a member of Willkie’s Executive Committee, launched the firm’s Chicago office in 2020, has grown it into a market leader with more than 100 lawyers.

Crain’s also highlighted Craig’s record of success trying major disputes, including International Chamber of Commerce arbitrations and civil rights, patent infringement and fiduciary duty cases. It also noted his role representing the board of directors of United Airlines in connection with the so-called “Chairman’s Flight” scandal and the subsequent resolution of government investigations in 2016.

Crain’s also highlighted Craig’s focus on civic engagement, including his service on the boards of the Aspen Institute and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and his contributions as a member of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago and the Economic Club of Chicago.

Craig is widely recognized as a leading trial lawyer and legal strategist, and has previously been honored by Crain’s numerous times as one of Chicago’s foremost attorneys and business leaders.
