Tariq Mundiya, chair of Willkie’s Litigation Department, has been named among the “Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys 2025” by Crain’s New York Business.
Tariq is recognized among those who are “shaping precedent and advocating for their clients across industries and issues” in the award series which highlights the New York City litigators and trial attorneys who are molding the legal landscape.
Crain’s New York notes Tariq’s representation of BlackRock in litigation with Saba Capital regarding the board composition and governance of several of BlackRock’s closed-end funds. It also highlights a significant victory in 2023, when a federal court in Ohio granted his client Third Point’s motion to dismiss a putative securities class action lawsuit that alleged that Third Point — as an early stage investor in a startup company that the plaintiff alleged misled investors — was a controlling shareholder under the federal securities laws.
