Debra Sinclair, U.S. Co-Chair of Willkie’s Restructuring Department and Chair of the Company Restructuring & Reorganization practice, has been named to American Bankruptcy Institute’s “40 Under 40” of 2024. The award honors the top insolvency professionals nationwide under the age of 40.
Debra was recognized as one of the most accomplished restructuring lawyers of her generation and a leader in the field. Her recent achievements include advising NanoString Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded biotech company, on its chapter 11 bankruptcy and related asset sale to Bruker Corporation, and representing Hello Bello in its chapter 11 bankruptcy and related asset sale to Hildred Capital Management. She also advised SL Green in the bankruptcy case of PWM Property Management, in which SL Green successfully acquired the commercial office tower located at 245 Park Avenue, and the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 restructuring of Grupo Aeroméxico S.A.B. de C.V., Mexico’s flagship carrier, among other significant matters.
The award from American Bankruptcy Institute further establishes Debra as an industry leader. She was previously recognized as a rising star in restructuring law by both Turnarounds & Workouts and Law360, in addition to other accolades. Debra has also been honored for her pro bono service by The Legal Aid Society and Immigration Equality.
American Bankruptcy Institute is the largest multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. Debra and the other “40 Under 40” honorees will be recognized during its Winter Leadership Conference in December.
