Claire James, a partner in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department, has been named to the 2024 Pro Bono Dean’s List by Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS) for her commitment to helping those in need gain access to justice.
Claire was recognized for her exceptional contributions to the VOLS Incarcerated Mothers Law Project. The project provides high-quality, free family law services to mothers in and recently released from prison and jail in New York State. Claire was honored for her efforts to uphold the rights of incarcerated mothers and secure better outcomes for them and their children.
VOLS partners with New York City’s community-based organizations, law firms, and companies to provide free, civil legal services to low-income and under-resourced New Yorkers.
