Willkie has been recognized at the Legal Business Awards 2024 as one of the top firms in the UK market and a leader in pro bono service.

The firm was “Highly Commended” in the US Law Firm of the Year award category for its growth as a market leader, achievements in the law and high-profile mandates. The accolade follows recognition Willkie earned earlier this year from Legal Business as one of the “pace-setters” in the London market that have grown the most over the last five years.

Willkie was also “Highly Commended” as Commercial Litigation Team of the Year. The firm’s record of success in high-stakes disputes includes securing a landmark $860 million judgment for Thai businessman Mr. Nopporn Suppipat in one of the largest-ever fraud trials at the Commercial Court. The Willkie litigation team was led by Peter Burrell, Chair of Willkie’s Litigation, Investigations & Enforcement, and White Collar Defence Practice Groups and Managing Partner of the London office, and partners Simon Osborn-King and Jerry Healy.

Willkie is the sole firm to be “Highly Commended” in those two award categories. In addition, the Green Tech Legal Collaborative, a groundbreaking pro bono initiative founded by Willkie, Bloomberg L.P. and other firms, was named “ESG Programme of the Year.” The Green Tech Legal Collaborative, launched in 2021, provides pro bono legal and compliance support for green tech startups from Imperial College’s Enterprise Lab.
