New York Law Journal selected Willkie’s Litigation Department as a finalist for Finance Litigation Department of the Year for excellence in high-stakes disputes at the forefront of the finance industry. The firm’s recent accomplishments include defeating a multibillion-dollar putative securities class action lawsuit against Third Point LLC, Third Point Ventures LLC, and Daniel Loeb, and securing the appellate reversal of a New York state securities action for SMBC Nikko Securities America. Willkie’s litigators also obtained the dismissal of Section 14(a) claims in a federal shareholder derivative action for the independent directors of Wells Fargo, among many other successes.
The New York Law Journal published a Q&A focused on Willkie’s recent finance litigation successes, what Willkie is doing to ensure that future generations of litigators are ready to take the helm, and more. View the Q&A here (may require subscription).
In addition, partner Kim Walker, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, was named a finalist for the Diversity Initiative award.
