Willkie was named “Environment & Sustainability: Outstanding Firm” at the Chambers USA Awards 2024 and M. Annie Houghton-Larsen, an associate in the Litigation Department, was “Highly Commended” as a finalist for the “DEI: Future Leader” award.

Willkie was recognized for its commitment to sustainability and forward-looking environmental initiatives, including the steps it is taking to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. The award also honors the success of the Willkie Green platform, including the firm’s Environmental Analyst Internship program and the rooftop beehives at its offices. Willkie is a leader in sustainability, both operationally and in its work for clients, and its capabilities include leading Power & Renewable Energy and Environmental, Social & Governance practices.

M. Annie Houghton-Larsen was “Highly Commended” in the “DEI: Future Leader” category for her leadership and accomplishments in the law. She is an advocate for diversity in the profession and has an active pro bono practice focused on impact litigation on behalf of marginalized communities. Annie recently served on the Willkie team that won a $148 million jury verdict for Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss in their landmark defamation suit against Rudy Giuliani. She also had a significant role on the Willkie team that brought a federal class action lawsuit against the New York State Department of Health and secured expanded dental coverage for millions of Medicaid recipients in New York.
