Marina Torres, a partner in Willkie’s Litigation Department, has been appointed to the Medical Board of California by Governor Gavin Newsom.
The Medical Board of California is a state government agency which licenses and disciplines medical doctors. Marina was appointed to serve a four-year term helping to oversee disciplinary matters concerning licensed physicians.
A member of Willkie’s White-Collar Defense and Investigations & Enforcement Practices in Los Angeles, Marina focuses on government and corporate internal investigations, white collar criminal defense, congressional inquiries, and complex civil litigation. She is an experienced litigator – as a former federal prosecutor she led or co-led more than 30 trials – and her trial practice includes civil litigation, criminal investigations and enforcement.
Marina’s civic engagement includes serving as a Trustee of the Mexican American Bar Association, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of Directors of Emerge California.
