Willkie Chairman Matthew Feldman has been honored by UJA-Federation of New York with the Professor Lawrence P. King Award for his leadership in the law and commitment to helping those in need.

Matt was recognized for his professional excellence and philanthropic efforts at the UJA’s Harvey R. Miller and Leonard M. Rosen Restructuring Annual Event in New York. One of the foremost restructuring lawyers in the country, Matt has had a prominent role in numerous landmark chapter 11 cases as well as out-of-court restructurings, excelling in both complex debtor- and creditor-side matters.

His accomplishments include serving in 2009 as Chief Legal Advisor to the Obama administration’s Task Force on the Auto Industry. The Treasury Department task force helped develop the overall strategy that successfully restructured and recapitalized General Motors Corporation and Chrysler LLC in the wake of the financial crisis. UJA also recognized Matt’s civic leadership and service to the community. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of New York University School of Law, is a Board member of the Institute for Policy Integrity at New York University School of Law, and is a retired board member for a number of not-for-profit organizations, including Her Justice, a leading provider of pro bono legal services to women and children in New York City.
