Krystyna Blakeslee, Chair of Willkie’s Real Estate Finance practice group, and Misty Sanford, West Coast Chair of the Real Estate Department, have been named to the “2024 Women of Influence,” GlobeSt.’s annual award series honoring the country’s top female commercial real estate professionals.
They are among the GlobeSt. honorees in the CRE Legal Counsel category who have “personally impacted the market and significantly driven the industry to new heights via their outstanding successes.”
Krystyna was recognized as one of the foremost lawyers in real estate finance and investment. She has advised on some of the country’s most significant commercial real estate transactions in recent years. Krystyna has extensive experience in the origination, acquisition and disposition of mortgage loans, mezzanine financings and subordinate debt, as well as in post-closing modifications, and loan sales and purchases. Her clients include domestic and foreign real estate companies, funds, and institutional lenders, investment banks, life insurance companies, commercial banks, loan servicers and investors across all asset classes.
Krystyna has been previously recognized by Crain’s, the Real Estate Development Awards and New York Restoration Project for her professional accomplishments and civic engagement. Krystyna, a former sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, is also a committed pro bono advocate and has been recognized for her work in support of veterans and their families.
Misty Sanford is a leading real estate lawyer with a broad transactional practice covering the full lifecycle of real estate assets. She regularly advises clients on loan workouts, public/private partnerships, real estate financing, complex mixed-use developments, as well as purchase and sale agreements, and joint ventures, among other complex transactions. Her client base includes premier institutional investors, private equity firms, developers, multinational corporations, REITs, foundations, non-profits and individual entrepreneurs.
Misty is also widely recognized as a market leader. Her recent accolades include recognition from L.A. Business Journal, UCLA School of Law, and the Mexican American Bar Foundation for her achievements and mentorship in the law and leadership in serving the community.
