Willkie has been recognized for its role advising Odinsa S.A. in the creation of its airport investment platform with Macquarie Asset Management, which has been shortlisted for “Private Equity Deal of the Year” at the Latin Lawyer Awards 2024.
Willkie represented Odinsa, a Colombian transportation infrastructure company owned by Grupo Argos S.A., in the sale of a 50% stake in certain of its airport concessions in Colombia and Ecuador to a Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) affiliate. The platform manages the parties’ interests in the concessionaires operating the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá and the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, and is developing private airport initiatives started by Odinsa in Colombia, with an eye to further initiatives in the aviation sector in South America.
The deal expanded the infrastructure partnership Odinsa established with MAM to manage its Colombia toll road assets, extending the platform into airport concessions. Willkie represented Odinsa in the creation of the toll road platform, which recently won “Deal of the Year: M&A” at The Legal 500 Colombia Awards.
The Willkie team was led by partners Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza and Jorge Kamine and included associates Pablo Benjumea Gutierrez and Christian Vidaurre.
Award winners will be announced at an event in São Paulo on Thursday, May 9.
