Tim Heaphy, Co-Chair of the Investigations & Enforcement Practice, was honored as Lawyer of the Year at the Bar Association of DC’s Annual Awards Banquet and Gala.
The annual event honors exceptional legal professionals in the Washington, DC region. Tim was named Lawyer of the Year in recognition of his long career in complex government investigations, compliance and crisis management, and significant work to better the legal profession in the pursuit of fundamental U.S. liberties. Tim served as Chief Investigative Counsel to the US House of Representatives Select Committee to Investigate The January 6 Attack on the Capitol.
In his speech, Tim called on attendees to be engaged in today’s critical legal issues. “As lawyers, as citizens, engage. Run toward the fire, not away from it,” he said. “We have fires in this country that need to be put out and, if we're going to put them out successfully, it’s going to take all of us.”
