Joseph G. Davis, partner in Willkie’s Litigation Department, has been recognized for his leadership in pro bono advocacy by Washington Council of Lawyers.
Washington Council of Lawyers featured Joe in their Pro Bono Spotlight series on the nominees for the 2023 Impact Justice Awards, which honor attorneys for their outstanding contributions to the pro bono and public-interest community.
“In every place justice is sought, Joe Davis is there to advocate for those who are underrepresented,” the profile noted. “From meeting rooms to parole hearings to trial courts to the United States Supreme Court, Joe dedicates his talent to increasing civil rights for all.”
In addition to being a leader in pro bono service, Joe chairs Willkie’s Greater DC Community Foundation, which for twenty years has supported education and enrichment programs for under-served youth in the region. He works closely with the Foundation’s current principal grantee, Horton’s Kids, a nonprofit serving approximately 500 children and their families in and around the Wellington Park and Stanton Oaks communities, some of the most under-resourced neighborhoods in the city.
