Jared Bartie, Chair of Willkie’s Sports Transactions Practice, has been named to The Hollywood Reporter’s “2023 New York Power Lawyers” as one of the top dealmakers in the sports and entertainment industries.
THR recognized Jared among the 25 New York City lawyers who “navigate cutting-edge deals and fight novel court battles for clients” in theater, music, sports and tech. Furthermore, he was one of just eight Power Lawyers in the Corporate category, highlighting the prominence of his sports transactions practice.
The publication noted Jared’s recent work representing recording artist J. Cole and entrepreneur Damian Mills, as part of a buyer group, in the acquisition of a majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets basketball team from Michael Jordan. He also represented the National Basketball Association’s Utah Jazz in its multi-year arena naming rights deal with Delta Airlines, among other high-profile matters.
The award further establishes Jared as one of the leading sports and esports lawyers nationwide.
