Law360 recognized Willkie Chicago as a 2023 “Regional Powerhouse” in Illinois for its reputation among a wide range of clients as a destination for high-stakes litigation and trial representation and private clients work.
Willkie’s Chicago office opened in March 2020 and has an active legal practice focused on trials and appeals, major investigations, and board governance counseling, as well as a leading Private Clients practice. The office includes nearly 80 lawyers.
"We practice in every significant, substantive area of law," said Craig C. Martin, Chairman, Midwest.
He added: "We try a lot of cases. That is not necessarily what happens in other cities in the country. There's just a small number of really high-quality trial lawyers and firms with the experience to try cases of great importance. So we see a flight to quality in that arena."
On Willkie’s private clients work, he added that the firm's Chicago office has become "a destination practice" for estate, trust and tax planning. "We [advise] a number of wealthy families with intergenerational wealth from Chicago and the U.S. and around the world," he said.
Willkie Chicago will be profiled by Law360 in more detail in a forthcoming story.
