Krista Schwartz, Co-Chair of Willkie’s IP Litigation Practice Group, has been named one of the “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers of 2023” by the Daily Journal. The annual report recognizes the foremost attorneys working in patent litigation, trademark and copyright law in California.
Daily Journal profiled Krista among the award winners, highlighting her recent victories in major patent infringement disputes as well as the breadth of her litigation practice. A first-chair trial attorney focused on IP litigation, Krista represents many of the world's largest technology companies in patent, copyright, trade secret, and complex IP cases. The variety and novelty of her work is part of what continues to drive her at the forefront of the field.
“You can be working on everything from patent law to copyright to trade secrets,” Krista told Daily Journal. “Then there’s often other causes of action that get mixed in, so you get to work on antitrust issues, breach of contract – there’s a big range of legal issues that you touch on. Couple that with the different technologies that you’re getting to learn about and litigate the issues over – it keeps the job fresh.”
The publication noted Krista’s recent success protecting the patents of a leading electronic design automation company in an arbitration proceeding at the International Chamber of Commerce. The profile also highlighted her representation of the company and several of its customers in numerous ongoing patent infringement actions brought by a non-practicing entity relating to semiconductor technology.
