Partners Laura Delanoy, Danielle Scalzo and Rachel Strickland have been named to The Deal’s “Top Women in Dealmaking 2023,” a list of the foremost female attorneys in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, restructuring and activist investing.
They are among the 98 women The Deal selected for “setting the bar for the next generation of attorneys” by excelling in “complex transactions over the past 12 months while maintaining strong client relationships, and leading in and out of the boardroom.”
Willkie is among the select group of firms with three or more honorees.
Laura Delanoy is a partner in the Corporate & Financial Services Department and Co-Chair of Willkie’s Environmental, Social & Governance practice. Her recent highlights include advising Alleghany Corporation in its $11.6 billion sale to Berkshire Hathaway, Morgan Stanley as financial advisor to the board of directors of Horizon Therapeutics in connection with Amgen’s $27.8 billion acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics, and Curtis Instruments in its sale to Kohler Co.
Danielle Scalzo is a partner in the Corporate & Financial Services Department. She recently represented Insight Partners in the sale of Bynder, a global leader in Digital Asset Management, to Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P., and Franklin Templeton in its acquisition of BNY Alcentra Group. Danielle also advised Galata Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company led by Callaway Capital Management LLC, in its business combination with Marti Technologies Inc., Turkey’s leading mobility app.
Rachel Strickland is Chair of Willkie’s Business Reorganization & Restructuring Department and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She is widely recognized for advising distressed companies in complex chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. Her recent accomplishments include securing court approval for NARCO Asbestos Trust of a $1.325 billion buyout agreement with Honeywell, and leading the chapter 11 cases of Clovis Oncology and GBG USA Inc.
