Partner Amanda S. Amert, Chair of Willkie’s ERISA Litigation Group, has been named among the “2022 Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting and Law” by Crain’s Chicago Business.
Crain’s recognized Amanda as one of the top attorneys in the Chicago area whose many civic contributions and accomplishments in the law include advancing diversity and mentoring the future leaders in the field.
The profile noted her experience defending major ERISA class actions for marquee clients, including being on the team representing Northwestern University in its ongoing ERISA case, Hughes v. Northwestern, which was argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in late 2021 and was remanded to the lower courts. It also highlighted Amanda’s role in helping to launch Willkie’s Chicago office in 2020 with five other prominent lawyers. As hiring partner, she has been instrumental in quickly growing the Chicago office to more than 70 lawyers at the forefront of the market.
