A Q&A profile with Neesa Sood in the publication showcases Willkie’s work in the field of Environmental, Social and Governance.
Willkie was honored as an “ESG and Community Impact Leader” at The National Law Journal 2022 Professional Excellence Awards. The award recognizes Willkie among the leaders in the field of Environmental, Social and Governance and highlights the Firm’s myriad efforts in this area. The awards reception took place on October 20.
Willkie’s ESG achievements were profiled in a Q&A article with partner Neesa Sood on the Firm’s ESG priorities, major cases and initiatives, and focus on environmental stewardship, which includes a carbon footprint management program, Environmental Analyst Internship program and urban beehives in the New York and Chicago office locations.
“The ability to work with clients on complex ESG issues while remaining committed to pro bono work, sustainability and directly supporting under-resourced communities is fulfilling,” noted Neesa in the article.
The profile discussed Willkie’s work in several ESG initiatives this past year including educational programs to serve DC’s under-resourced community, funding of a park in San Francisco, and helping secure asylum for a mother and her children who fled Honduras due to domestic and gang violence.
“This life-changing victory was the culmination of over five years of work. Willkie is currently representing over 50 other pro bono clients around the world seeking legal status in the U.S,” she said.
Among the hallmarks of Willkie’s core values and culture is the Firm’s longstanding commitment to serving the underprivileged, promoting social justice, and supporting the communities in which we live and work. The Firm demonstrates this through pro bono service, environmental stewardship, charitable giving and other means, and continues to make an impact through innovative and effective initiatives.
