Simona is recognized as one of the leading female lawyers in California.
Partner Simona Agnolucci has been named to the Daily Journal’s “Top Women Lawyers of 2022” for her achievements in high-stakes litigation and leadership in the California legal market.
The publication profiled Simona as one of the foremost female attorneys in California, noting her many successes as a first-chair trial lawyer, Managing Partner of Willkie’s San Francisco office and a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.
The Daily Journal highlighted Simona’s role helping to build out the San Francisco office – it has grown significantly across its litigation, insurance regulatory, intellectual property, executive compensation and private equity practices – as well as her record of securing wins at every stage of bet-the-company disputes.
The profile noted her recent victory at trial and on appeal on behalf of Public Storage, the nation’s largest self-storage operator, in a consumer class action – one of the few to go all the way to trial in California in recent years.
“I appreciated that the client was willing to try a case, even when the stakes were high,” Simona told the Daily Journal. “Most class actions settle, but we believed in this case and in our ability to win it.”
The profile also highlighted her success defending LinkedIn in a consumer class action, this time securing a notably swift dismissal at the outset.
“Our strategy was to go aggressively straight to the merits. We filed an early motion for summary judgment, and we did it out of the gate,” Simona said. “This was a way to navigate an efficient resolution for our client.”
