Willkie honorees recognized among the music industry’s foremost dealmakers, counselors and litigators.
Partners Sid Fohrman, Shane Nix and Alex Weingarten have been named to Billboard’s 2022 “Top Music Lawyers List.” The annual series recognizes “the savviest legal counselors in the business” who have had a decisive role in the music industry’s most significant transactions, disputes and innovations.
Sid Fohrman, Chair of Willkie’s Music and Digital Media Practice, was recognized for his work guiding cutting-edge transactions for TikTok, Match Group and virtual reality concert platform AmazeVR, among other entertainment industry leaders. Billboard has selected Sid for this honor every year since 2019.
Shane Nix is a leading Tax attorney focused on issues specific to the entertainment industry. He has recently represented a number of prominent music artists in connection with major catalogue sales, in addition to advising other complex transactions.
Alex Weingarten is Managing Partner of Willkie’s Los Angeles Office and Chair of the Firm’s Entertainment Litigation Practice. He is one of the entertainment industry’s top trial lawyers and business leaders. Billboard highlighted his representation of Jamie Spears in the high-profile litigation with his daughter Britney Spears over her conservatorship. Alex has been named among the publication’s “Top Music Lawyers” every year since 2018.
