The fifth annual list recognizes exceptional female lawyers in the New York City metropolitan area.
Crain’s New York Business named partners Laura Delanoy and Allison Tam among the 2022 “Notable Women in Law.” The annual list recognized 119 women in the New York City metropolitan area for their achievements in the law, leadership and contributions to the legal community.
Laura Delanoy is a partner in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department and has extensive experience in major mergers and acquisitions as well as in capital markets transactions. Crain’s highlighted Laura’s recent success advising BofA Securities and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, as financial advisors to Kansas City Southern, in connection with Kansas City Southern’s $33.6 billion combination with Canadian National Railway. The publication also noted her role representing Fidelity National Financial, Inc. in its $2.7 billion acquisition of FGL Holdings. In addition to her professional accomplishments, the profile highlighted Laura’s leadership at Willkie and her role as Co-Chair of the Women’s Professional Development Committee and the firm’s alternative work schedule coordinator. In those roles, she has helped female attorneys across Willkie succeed in their careers and excel on a flexible schedule.
Allison Tam is a partner in Willkie’s Insurance Transactional and Regulatory Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Insurance Regulatory Group. Crain’s noted her experience advising insurance companies in merger and acquisition and restructuring transactions, including landmarks in the industry. It highlighted her achievements representing KKR in its $4.4 billion acquisition of retirement and life insurance company Global Atlantic, Protective Life Corporation in its acquisition of Liberty Mutual’s individual life and annuity business in a $3.3 billion multi-party deal, and MetLife, Inc. in its spin-off of Brighthouse Financial, Inc. The publication also highlighted Allison’s impact at Willkie, including her longtime service on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Women’s Professional Development Committee.
