Willkie’s Frankfurt team has been nominated by German legal publisher JUVE as “Law Firm of the Year” for Private Equity and Venture Capital.
The JUVE editorial team honors firms, both new and established, that show particular dynamism in advising financial investors for their work over the past twelve months. Each year, JUVE nominates five law firms each in 15 categories for these awards. The winners will be announced at the end of October.
Willkie’s Frankfurt office is comprised of approximately 45 lawyers who handle complex corporate and commercial transactions, litigation, restructuring, tax and real estate matters. The team has been expanding and recently added eight market-leading lawyers as partners and counsel across various practice areas, including private equity lawyers Dr. Kamyar Abrar and Dr. Michael Ilter.
Ongoing and recent matters handled by the Frankfurt office include advising SGT Capital on the acquisition of Utimaco Group from private equity fund EQT Mid Market Europe; STARK Deutschland GmbH on the acquisition of Melle Gallhöfer from private equity fund palero; and Questel and its financial sponsors Eurazeo, IK Investment Partners and Raise Investissement on the contemplated acquisition of NovumIP from Paragon Partners.
