Corporate Counsel magazine presented Ms. Kruse with the award at the annual conference and awards ceremony.
Partner Rosalind Kruse was named the recipient of the Thought Leadership Award by Corporate Counsel magazine at its annual Women, Influence & Power in Law conference and awards. The event, which took place on October 28, was held virtually this year.
For over 20 years, Ms. Kruse has dedicated her time and energy to increasing the presence and power of women at Willkie and beyond. As a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Compensation Committee, a member of numerous other firm committees for decades, and a partner in the Corporate & Financial Services Department, Ms. Kruse has been at the forefront of Willkie’s efforts to hire, retain and promote women and has been actively involved in these initiatives on an almost daily basis.
Corporate Counsel featured a profile on Ms. Kruse which discusses her busy corporate practice, her route to the top, what she wished she would have known as a young lawyer and the best leadership advice she received. On the topic of leadership, Ms. Kruse notes that “I have learned the most about effective leadership from observing the best leaders of my firm. The leaders I admire most are driven to succeed, of course, but the most effective leaders take action to promote their vision and have the courage to advocate for choices that may run counter to historical practice.”
The Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards honors top women lawyers who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession. According to Corporate Counsel, the thought leadership honor is awarded to “women who focus on how true leadership can change the world…[using] passion and drive to have a successful department/team through their outstanding leadership skills.”
