Russell Whitman

Russell Whitman is an associate in the Corporate & Financial Services Department. He primarily represents clients in the media, entertainment, sports and technology industries in a variety of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, corporate governance, and entity formation. Russell also has significant experience negotiating a broad range of content licensing and distribution transactions including retransmission consent agreements, affiliation agreements, media rights agreements and matters relating to digital distribution, such as “over the top” (OTT) distribution, TV Everywhere (TVE) distribution, and rights relating to direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming offerings. Russell also represents private equity funds and their respective portfolio companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions and growth equity transactions, as well as day-to-day general corporate needs, for which he draws on his experience from a secondment with a private equity sponsor.
