Eric P. Schmidt is counsel in the Communications & Media Practice Group, focusing on client counseling and advocacy before the Federal Communications Commission, state public utility commissions, and courts. He advises clients on regulatory and litigation matters including broadband infrastructure deployment and universal service funding programs, network resiliency and disaster response, 911 and emergency alerting, accessibility, video franchising, merger review, and appeals of agency decisions. With prior experience in public safety and administrative law matters at the FCC, Eric advises clients on regulatory compliance as well as strategic advocacy in rulemaking and enforcement proceedings. He also helps clients navigate state and local regulatory obligations in light of overarching—and rapidly changing—federal requirements and funding programs.
