Aaron E. Nathan
Counsel, Litigation
Aaron Nathan is counsel in the Strategic Motions & Appeals practice group in the Litigation Department of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York. His practice focuses on appellate and trial-level advocacy in complex commercial disputes, along with constitutional, regulatory, antitrust, bankruptcy, and pro bono matters. Aaron has significant experience litigating high-stakes matters at every level, including in the United States Supreme Court.
Aaron previously served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Robert A. Katzmann of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and to Judge Jesse M. Furman of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Experience
Aaron has advised on the following significant matters*:
- Representing Mr. William Browder, the leading global advocate for the Magnitsky Act and author of the book "Red Notice," in response to defamation litigation filed against Mr. Browder by the Russian lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin
- Representing a major technology company in a groundbreaking antitrust case, leading to a precedent-setting victory at trial.
- Successful certiorari-stage and merits briefing in Animal Science Products, Inc. v. Hebei Welcome Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., a unanimous Supreme Court victory in a transnational antitrust class action.
- Representing James Alefantis, owner of Comet Ping Pong restaurant in Washington D.C., in response to a viral "fake news" conspiracy theory known as "Pizzagate"
- Authoring numerous certiorari-stage and merits-stage Supreme Court briefs on behalf of parties and amici curiae.
