David G. Nadig
Senior Counsel, Corporate & Financial Services
David G. Nadig is senior counsel in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department and a member of the Insurance Transactional and Regulatory Practice Group. With more than 36 years of experience in the highly-regulated insurance business, David advises senior executives and boards on litigation, government investigations, and regulatory matters for insurers, insurance brokers, and other companies. He represents companies before state and federal regulatory bodies, including market conduct examinations, government investigations, enforcement proceedings, and state insurance filings. A former senior executive at Allstate Insurance Company, David is a well-regarded leader in the insurance sector, known for his collaborative style in building practical solutions to complex challenges, and his creative and practical approach to strategic legal and compliance matters to achieve business objectives.
Experience
Prior to joining Willkie in 2022, David served approximately 15 years as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Allstate Insurance company, where he led a team of more than 60 lawyers accountable for all legal, legislative and regulatory matters for the property and casualty and life insurance operations. He served as a strategic business partner to the president of three business units, providing practical solutions-oriented advice to advance strategic initiatives. David also served as the chief government affairs officer for the enterprise.
Throughout his 36-year career at Allstate, David successfully led and managed the resolution of complex regulatory investigations, including matters that were the subject of state and federal class actions and shareholder derivative lawsuits. He has served on the boards of several Allstate affiliate companies and numerous industry trade associations, including the Advocates for Highway Safety and the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds.
