
Jason Linder
Partner, Litigation
Jason is a former senior federal prosecutor and nationally recognized trial lawyer known for defending boards, multinational companies and executives in high-profile white-collar criminal matters involving corporate crises and government and media scrutiny. He also leads internal and government-facing investigations, often across borders; and provides proactive compliance counseling to clients. Jason has led matters in more than 70 countries and in all major industries, advising clients on a variety of matters involving corruption, securities fraud and other forms of financial fraud, money laundering, tax evasion and anticompetitive conduct. He is experienced in working with or against DOJ, SEC and numerous U.S. law enforcement and regulatory agencies and foreign authorities.
Jason is the national co-chair of the American Bar Association’s White Collar Crime Committee, an officer of the International Bar Association’s Business Crimes Committee and serves on the boards of multiple California legal and public service organizations.
Jason is a frequent conference speaker and writer for industry publications on a range of white collar and compliance issues. National media, including the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, regularly turn to Jason for thought leadership. He is recognized by numerous legal industry publications, including selection as one of five lawyers to Global Investigations Review’s “FCPA Practitioner to Watch” list in 2021 and his national and international rankings by Chambers for FCPA.
Experience
Prior to joining Willkie in 2025, Jason was the co-chair of the investigations and white-collar defense practice at a global law firm. He also previously served as a federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division—where he led many of the Department’s most cutting-edge cross-border white collar investigations—and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, where he tried numerous cases and argued multiple appeals.
Jason also served as DOJ’s principal representative to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and clerked for the Honorable Stanley Marcus of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit earlier in his career.

- Defending a major professional services company in an assessment of its compliance program by French anti-corruption authorities.
- Representing an executive of a major financial institution in an internal fraud-related investigation and related civil litigation.
- Advising a major energy company in a variety of compliance and investigations matters in West Africa, South America, the Middle East and elsewhere.
- Conducting compliance reviews and implementing compliance remediation for multiple large corporations, many publicly traded, across a wide range of industries.
- Representing a major pharmaceutical manufacturer in an FCPA-related civil suit.
- Represented a major insurer in a DOJ criminal antitrust investigation.
- Represented the general counsel of a defense contractor in multiple DOJ investigations involving allegations relating to the FCPA, money laundering, the Foreign Agent Registration Act and fraud.
