Christopher (Chris) Jung-Joon Lee is an associate in the Litigation Department at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in San Francisco. Chris focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, including disputes involving breach of contract, antitrust, privacy, and products liability. He has experience litigating in federal and state courts across the country, as well as in arbitration proceedings.

Chris received his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. During law school, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Edmond E. Chang of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and a Lefkow Public Interest Fellow at the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago, IL. Chris received his A.B., magna cum laude, from Duke University, where he was a Trinity Scholar. 

Experience

  • Co-Authored, "A New Home Court for the FTC in Pre-Merger Challenges?", The Daily Journal (Aug. 2023). 

Chris has served on litigation and trial teams advising on the following matters:

  • Representing a Fortune 50 social media technology company in an antitrust enforcement action brought by the FTC against the proposed acquisition of a virtual reality fitness app developer. Resulted in successful denial of the FTC’s preliminary injunction motion following a seven-day bench trial.
  • Federal Trade Commission v. Microsoft Corporation & Activision Blizzard, Inc., representing Microsoft in an antitrust enforcement action brought by the FTC against Microsoft's proposed $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft's largest acquisition and the largest deal in the history of the video game industry. Resulted in successful denial of the FTC's preliminary injunction motion following a five-day bench trial.
  • Representing a pharmaceutical rebate aggregator in a multi-million dollar breach of contract arbitration against a pharmacy benefits manager, relating to underpayment on a rebate management services contract. Resulted in a favorable settlement recovering 80%+ of damages claimed by the client. 
  • Doe v. The University of Maryland Medical System, representing UMMS in a wiretapping and invasion of privacy class action relating to the alleged disclosure of patient health information to third parties. 
  • Yu v. AliExpress E-Commerce One Pte. Ltd., representing Alibaba Group in a product liability action relating to injuries suffered from the alleged malfunctioning of a product sold by a third-party manufacturer.  
  • FICT Limited v. Ampere Computing LLC, representing FICT in a breach of contract dispute relating to the unlawful termination of a supply agreement between a package substrate manufacturer and a semiconductor manufacturing company.
  • Wagner v. Pretium Holding LLC et al, representing Genstar Capital in a negligence and product liability action relating to injuries suffered in a plastics factory. Resulted in successful granting of motion to dismiss the client from the case.
