Samara Cohen is an associate in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department. Her practice focuses on representing clients in the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects. Samara represents clients in various types of financing transactions, including tax equity investments, debt financings, term loans, syndicated bridge and revolving loan facilities for solar, battery storage, and wind projects.
Experience
- Sponsors’ counsel for the development and financings of 100 solar photovoltaic electric generating and energy storage facilities in California with a total capacity of approximately 50 MWdc.
- Sponsors’ counsel for debt and tax equity financing of a 150 MWac solar photovoltaic project located in Texas.
- Developer’s counsel for development of utility solar projects located throughout the United States.
- Sponsors’ counsel for the $800 million debt financing of solar photovoltaic projects and a battery energy storage system located in Arizona.
- The U.S. Department of Transportation in various financings under the TIFIA program run by the Build America Bureau.
