New York, NY, April 7, 2025 -- Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP today announced that Jennifer R. Porter has joined the Firm as a partner. She is based in Washington, DC and is a member of Willkie’s Asset Management Department.
Jennifer held various roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Most recently she served as Assistant Director in the Investment Adviser Regulation Office, which is responsible for rulemaking activities under the Investment Advisers Act and providing advice on policy initiatives affecting the asset management industry.

During her SEC tenure of nearly 15 years, Jennifer served as a senior policy advisor for two of the Division of Investment Management’s directors and as a senior advisor for Chair Mary Jo White. In these roles, Jennifer advised on regulatory and policy matters related to the regulation of investment advisers and investment companies under the Investment Advisers Act and the Investment Company Act. She also held roles as a branch chief and attorney in the Investment Adviser Regulation Office, an acting branch chief in the Disclosure Review and Accounting Office, and an attorney in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Prior to her government service, Jennifer was a senior associate at a prominent global law firm. Her practice focused on advising registered investment advisers, private funds, and registered investment companies.
