Anna Martini G. Pereira, Chair of Willkie’s Latin America Practice Group, and Jorge Kamine, Co-Chair of the Project Finance & Investment Practice Group, were interviewed in a special Latinvex report titled “Latin American Energy: Promising Outlook.”
Anna and Jorge discussed recent developments in Latin America’s energy sector, noting opportunities for private investment arising from both the growing demand for electricity as well as from expanding energy production. They highlighted transmission and grid infrastructure, and battery storage as investment areas in a burgeoning power sector, and noted continued growth in oil and gas, midstream infrastructure and renewable energy across the region.
In addition, the Q&A discussed key challenges facing the energy sector in Latin America as well as specific policies and initiatives in various countries to support private investments across market segments.
