Willkie advised The HC Companies, a leading North American manufacturer of horticultural containers and portfolio company of Platinum Equity, on its acquisition of Classic Home & Garden, a premier provider of decorative and functional products for the lawn and garden market in North America.
Announced on May 28, the complementary acquisition brings together leaders in functional pots and decorative containers and represents a significant step in making The HC Companies a best-in-class, diversified player of scale within the broader horticultural market.
Willkie previously represented Platinum Equity in its acquisition of The HC Companies in 2023.
Founded in 1995 by Tom Gores, Platinum Equity is a global investment firm with more than $48 billion of assets under management and a portfolio of approximately 50 operating companies that serve customers around the world.
The Willkie team was led by partners Cristopher Greer and Thomas Sharkey and included associates Mark Vible and Elizabeth Jongeward.
