Partners Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza, Chair of Willkie’s Latin America Practice, and Jorge Kamine, Co-Chair of the Project Finance & Investment Practice Group, were interviewed by Latinvex in the special report titled “Latin American Energy: Positive Outlook.”

Maria-Leticia and Jorge noted key developments in Latin America’s energy sector in 2024, including growing investment opportunities, expansions in the private sector, supportive policy making and the potential of several markets and countries.

Specifically, they explained why Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico are expected to drive energy growth this year. They also noted that the Dominican Republic, Panama, Argentina and Peru will be interesting markets to watch based on recent elections and market reforms.

Despite the challenges facing the region in 2024, Maria-Leticia and Jorge described Latin America as “well-positioned to thrive as a destination for investment, contribute to global net-zero goals, and satisfy the need for low-carbon energy supplies.”

Willkie associate Nicole Khamis and visiting foreign associate Gonzalo Orrego also contributed to the report.
