Willkie represented Mercado Lending S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of Mercado Libre, in the negotiation of an origination agreement that establishes the framework for whole loan sales to Goldman Sachs Lending Partners LLC.
On January 5, Mercado Lending entered into an origination agreement with Goldman Sachs as purchaser. The origination agreement will serve as the basis for the purchase by Goldman Sachs of consumer loans originated by Mercado Lending.
Mercado Libre is one of the largest online marketplaces in Latin America with operations in more than 18 countries and over 150 million users.
The Willkie team was led by partner Andres Mena and included law clerk Josefina Ayala Wilkins.
