Willkie pro bono immigration attorney Sarah Geiger has been profiled by Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) in recognition of her work with the organization to help protect unaccompanied refugee and migrant children.
Sarah was featured in KIND’s “Pro Bono Attorney Spotlight,” a Q&A series recognizing the outstanding contributions of lawyers who partner with the organization. In the profile, Sarah discussed her experience representing refugee children, the impact it has had on her and on the lives of her clients, and tips for attorneys new to pro bono advocacy.
Sarah, who first worked with KIND in 2016 and is now on her seventh case for the organization, said that her experiences have helped her “become a better lawyer and a better person” and urged other attorneys to lend their talents.
“You will never regret working on a KIND case,” Sarah said. “The time commitment will fade in comparison to the satisfaction you will feel at using your legal skills to change the trajectory of your client's life, and using your human skills to help a child in need.”
