Willkie advised Epopée Gestion, an investment firm based in France, on the structuring and first closing of the Epopée Infra Climat I fund dedicated to low-carbon infrastructure in the French Atlantic region.
Épopée Gestion announced on July 6 the launch of its new fund focused on sustainable investment and accelerating the low-carbon infrastructure transformation. With an initial closing of €100 million, the fund is targeting a size of €250-300 million and expects to finance approximately a dozen localized projects working to decarbonize the economy, notably in low-carbon transport, energy production and adaptation to climate change. A third of the fund will be dedicated to investments in the maritime industry.
The Epopée Infra Climat I fund is aiming for Article 9 classification under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the EU’s highest classification for sustainable investment.
The Willkie team was led by partner Tiana Rambatomanga with assistance from associate Jean Coupé and law clerk Brandy Keunan, and included special European tax counsel Philippe Grudé and associate Aliénor Bon-Mardion.
