Willkie advised SPIN, a magazine at the forefront of music journalism, on its partnership with 101 Studios to develop and produce film, television and podcast projects based on SPIN’s IP and music magazine library.
The partnership, announced on March 15, will draw from SPIN’s journalism dating back to the 1980s, while also showcasing new and upcoming musicians. Its projects will follow recent sports documentaries and films by 101’s unscripted division, which launched in 2021.
101 Studios is a global entertainment company behind the hit television series Yellowstone, 1923 and Mayor of Kingstown, among many other shows. Its film productions include The Current War, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Burden, with Forest Whitaker, and The War with Grandpa, featuring Robert Deniro.
The Willkie team was led by partner Sidney Fohrman and associate Hayley Silvertown.
