On January 12, Willkie client Bantleon AG announced its acquisition of Warburg Invest AG, an investment management company formerly operating as NORD/LB Asset Management AG.
The takeover will create an asset manager with more than EUR 23 billion assets under management and more than EUR 24 billion assets under administration. The acquisition is expected to enhance Bantleon’s bond management strengths and grow its equity management capabilities. Bantleon will also be able to offer customers first-class master KVG services (including investment funds that comply with Article 8 plus or Article 9 and are FNG-certified).
Bantleon, headquartered in Hanover, Germany, is a specialist in cyclically based asset management with a focus on capital preservation combined with attractive returns.
The Willkie team was led by partners Dr. Michael Ilter and Dr. David Jansen and included counsel Wulf Kring, and associates Dr. Maximilian Hirsch and Nicolas Kersten.
