New York, NY, January 30, 2023 -- Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP today announced that Marina A. Torres has joined the Firm as a partner in in the Litigation Department, where she is part of Willkie’s White-Collar Defense Practice. She is based in Los Angeles.
A former federal prosecutor with over 30 trials in federal and state courts, Marina is an experienced litigator whose trial practice has included complex commercial litigation, criminal investigations and enforcement. She has broad experience with government enforcement actions, corporate internal investigations, and solving complex and sensitive legal, policy, and regulatory issues.

For six years, Marina served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in both the District of Columbia and the Central District of California. Prior to that, she was a political appointee with the Department of Homeland Security under President Obama, where she was part of the policy team leading the design and implementation of the President’s executive actions on immigration. Marina was also a candidate for Los Angeles City Attorney in the 2022 election. Most recently, she was of counsel at California litigation boutique Halpern May Ybarra Gelberg LLP.
