Gil is recognized as one of the top 25 female lawyers under the age of 40.
Partner Gil Kiener has been named a “Rising Star” of 2022 by Law.com International, an award recognizing the leading female lawyers in Europe under the age of 40.
The publication profiled Gil, a Paris-based partner in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department, as one of the 25 women “who represent the best and brightest practicing on the continental market.” Moreover, she is among just six honorees from the Paris market and the sole lawyer among that group focused on private equity transactions.
The profile highlighted Gil’s leadership and achievements as a dealmaker, noting her work for some of the private equity industry’s premier firms, and her impact as a mentor and role model for other up-and-coming attorneys.
She has excelled over the past year on numerous high-profile transactions, including advising Five Arrows Principal Investments and IK Investment Partners on their agreement with Insight Partners to invest in iad, a leading French digital real estate network – while also being promoted to partner and raising a family.
Gil noted Willkie’s support for its female lawyers but emphasized the Firm’s broader effort to help all of its attorneys strike a balance and find personal and professional fulfillment in elite legal practice.
“It is not a ‘female career progression’ that I would like to address, but ‘the career progression of an involved parent’ irrespective of the sex,” Gil told Law.com International.
The 25 future female leaders in law were selected based on numerous factors, including the caliber of their client base, contributions to their practice area, the significance of their matters and market reputation, among other attributes.
