On June 13, Cerity Partners, a leading independent wealth management firm, announced its recapitalization led by Willkie client Genstar Capital.
Cerity Partners is a financial and wealth advisory firm serving high-net-worth individuals and their families, businesses and their leaders, and non-profit organizations throughout the U.S. It advises on approximately $50 billion in assets. Lightyear Capital, a financial services-focused private equity firm, has been an investor in Cerity Partners since 2017 and will continue to be an investor in the firm following the Genstar transaction.
With approximately $35 billion in assets under management, San Francisco-based Genstar Capital is a leading private equity firm focused on targeted segments of the financial services, industrial technology, healthcare and software industries.
The Willkie team was led by partners Jeffrey Poss, Manuel Miranda and Thomas Sharkey and included associates Steven Mercadante, Robert Quinn and Emily Tu.
