Heather will help advance the organization’s work at the forefront of intellectual property law.
On May 19, partner Heather Schneider was elected President of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (NYIPLA), a prominent legal organization dedicated to promoting the development and administration of intellectual property interests.
Appointed President for the NYILPA’s 100th year, Heather will focus on addressing intellectual property issues in the Life Sciences space, working with the NYIPLA’s 25 active committees covering all aspects of intellectual property law and practice, and hosting the organization’s President’s Forum events.
Heather is a partner in Willkie’s Intellectual Property Department in New York. Her practice focuses on patent litigation, trademark prosecution, transactional work and antitrust issues involving intellectual property.
Founded in 1922, the NYIPLA is a leading organization for U.S. lawyers interested in intellectual property law. In addition to educating the public and practitioners and advocating for intellectual property interests, the NYIPLA works with foreign associations to harmonize international conventions for the protection of intellectual property.
