Willkie represented Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited in the completion of its previously announced deal to be acquired by certain investment funds affiliated with Apollo Global Management LLC.
On February 15, Willkie client Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited (NYSE: AHL) and affiliates of certain investment funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC (NYSE: APO), a leading global alternative investment manager, announced that the Apollo Funds have completed the previously announced acquisition of Aspen for $42.75 per share in cash, representing an equity value of approximately $2.6 billion. The transaction, which was first announced on August 28, 2018, closed following receipt of regulatory approvals and the approval of Aspen’s shareholders.
The Willkie deal team was led by partners Michael Groll and Rajab Abbassi, and included partners Joseph Ferraro and Tariq Mundiya, and associate and Kurt Lyn.
